candy cane kiss crinkle cookies

This past Friday I saw the movie
Silver Linings Playbook and IT. WAS. AWESOME. !

Bradley Cooper is one sexy piece of fine quality white chocolate. Yum.

I had never seen him before (I know…) although I heard that he was voted, “Sexiest Man” alive and starred in The Hangover (which I’ve never seen). I just never got the chance to Google him and stuff...lol.

Anyways, just wanted to share that the movie is really great, Bradley is sexy, and you all should see this movie if given the chance. :)

I made these cookies yesterday for an event.  They were alright.

I didn't read the recipe fully before I started making them, and halfway through I realized that I had to refrigerate the dough for 2 hours before baking. That was annoying. I hate when I don't read recipes through.

They are cute cookies, but delicious? No.

If I were to make them again I would definitely up the sugar quantity by a 1/4 cup at least.

HOWEVER. The kisses in the center---the candy cane truffles---are my favorite Christmas candy, EVER. I love those bad boys! Perhaps the reason why I didn't enjoy the cookies as much is because I would seriously rather just eat the candy cane truffles. Love them! :)

My most favorite Christmas candy in all the land.  :)

So that's the verdict on these cookies.

On a side note. Do any of you watch Real Housewives of Atlanta? I cannot get over how dumb Portia Stewart is. I don't care if that is mean to day because there is no other word to describe that girl. Who in their right mind says, OUT LOUD, that there are 265 days in a year and then doesn't even correct themselves/realize they are WRONG?!  Good grief...

Candy Cane Kiss Crinkle Cookiesrecipe found on bakergirl

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking salt
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1 bag of Hershey's candy cane kisses

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Stir flour mixture into sugar mixture, until just combined. Place plastic wrap over bowl and refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours.

Meanwhile unwrap Hershey kisses, place in a small bowl, and freeze until ready to use.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or spray with baking spray; set aside. Place powdered sugar in a small bowl; set aside.

Scoop dough into 1/2 tablespoon balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on baking sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes, until cookies crackle and no longer look raw (they'll start to look cakey).

Remove from oven. Immediately press a frozen kiss into each cookie, then place cookie sheet into the freezer just until chocolate is set and no longer shiny. Remove from freezer and allow to cool completely.
